Toftaholm is an agricultural landscape of great natural beauty close to Lake Vidöstern and is characterised by fields, oak pastures and lakeside beaches. Within the reserve are the remains of a medieval village that became a large farm in the 15th century.
The flora reflects the nutrient-rich bedrock, with old-growth oaks providing habitat for many threatened insect species. There are no paths in the reserve but you are nevertheless welcome to explore on foot.
