Målaskogsberg is known as one of Sunnerbo's best places for wild flowers. The reserve comprises a wooded hill bordered by cultural landscape and peat bogs. The broadleaf woodland contains a large number of hornbeams (Carpinus betulus) and in spring the forest floor is carpeted with blue anemones. other species are wood anemone, coralroot and spring vetchling. The reserve's hay meadows, small fields and grazing enclosures are still used for small-scale agriculture. The bird-life is rich in the woodlands, with among others several species of woodpeckers and owls. Access is by footpath.
