Hästhultskogen nature reserve

Show map

After a forest fire more than 200 years ago, this coniferous woodland was left virtually untouched by man and is now a rich, old-growth forest. Some of the pine trees have stood for more than three centuries and there is an abundance of fallen timber and dead wood. Chickweed wintergreen (Trientalis europaea), twinflower and creeping lady's tresses all grow in the reserve.
