Gölsjömyren is located in a patch of wetlands that stretch from the lake Flåren in the north to the mire Vissle in the south, which is about 35 kilometers.
The small lake in the middle of the reserve is known as Gölsjön, and is a typical example of a nutrient-poor humus lake. North of the lake there are forested islands. The reserve is an important roosting spot for moving birds, like cranes and swans.
Other than the rules in the Right of Public Access you are not allowed to do any of the following within the reserve.
Camp in a tent or a caravan
Drive a vehicle
Start a fire
Bring an unleashed dog
Disturb animal life or hurting the vegetation
Full restrictions can be found written on signs by the reserve.
